Every Freelo chair features Tenjam’s Speed Fill Ballast System: a drain hole at the bottom of each of its four legs that lets pool water flow freely into the core when you set the chair in the pool, and back out again the moment you lift it out. That water adds the weight needed to keep the chair anchored on the sun shelf — no pump, no fuss, and the easiest fill-and-drain system on the market.
A Fraction of the Weight
At approximately 22 lbs., Freelo is a fraction of the weight of competitor in-pool chairs, which trap and lock water inside a sealed core and can end up weighing well over 100 lbs. That extra weight might sound like added stability, but in practice it just makes those chairs exhausting to lift, reposition, or store. Freelo’s Speed Fill Ballast System gives you the anchoring benefit of water-filled ballast without the burden – so moving it between the patio and the sun shelf takes one person, not two.

Because water continuously enters and exits through the four bottom air/drain holes, Freelo’s core stays flushed with fresh pool water rather than holding standing water indefinitely.
